Wirsbo Tubing AquaPEX Non-Barrier Cross-Linked Pipe. The basis of the system is PEX tubing, which is cross-linked polyethelene. This material is remarkably durable within a wide range of temperatures and pressures. Oxygen diffusion can cause corrosion of the ferrous components in radiant systems with non-metallic tubing. Wirsbo HePex Tubing uses multiple layers of special oxygen barrier polymer. This reduces the oxygen diffusion by more than a thousand-fold, compared to other plastic tubing, thus eliminating corrosion damage to other components in the system.
